A community testing drive reported 250 people screened with 20 reactors. A second free TB skin test clinic will be held August 5 at the Myrtle Hotel lobby for Myrtle Point residents from 10:30 am to 1 pm and 5 pm to 7 pm to reach those who missed earlier testing.
Gov. Holmes plans to visit the Coos County Fair on August 14 as part of a community program. The Fort Arthur Boy Scouts will hold an off week camping trip from August 3 to 4 with an annual picnic planned at Shrine Grove next Sunday inviting local residents.
The Coos County Fair announces a bread baking contest inviting men to compete for valuable prizes. Winners receive Crown Flour gifts with 50 pounds to first place, 25 to second, and 10 pounds to others, as sponsors including Crown Mills and Red Star Yeast support the event.
