Irrigation Hours Set The City Council Adopts Rationed Watering Plan
The city council, by ordinance, changes irrigation hours to 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. to ease low evening water pressure. Officials caution against continuous use. Sewer work begins with the Southend trunk line on Roseburg Road and Reedsford Road projects. Estimated total project cost ranges from 145000 to 155600 dollars with a four mile overall length once trunk lines and laterals are laid. Contractor aims to complete major trunk lines by Sept. 15 and Sept. 1 for the Reedsford area, while pumping station construction will follow.

Drunken Driving Cases Hit Municipal Court in Sitkum
V E Cunningham of Sitkum appeared in Municipal Justice Court pleading not guilty to drunken driving and guilty to operating without a license. Bail set at 600 by Judge Moore. City records show six drunken driving cases since June 1. Police Chief William Tankersley led the arrests.
