Third Annual Lamb Sale Draws 2400 Sheep to Coos County Fair
The Coos County Livestock Marketing Association hosted the third annual lamb sale at the fair grounds. About 2400 sheep sold despite a slump in market prices. Rod McKenzie of Port Orford led buyers with 1600 lambs. fat lambs brought 30 cents per pound while feeders averaged over a pound. Fred Gross chaired the event with 3600 sheep weighed and distributed to 50 sellers in the auction arena as Bruce Braghs oversaw livestock operations.
