Oregon Proclaims Forest Areas Off Limits in 1949 Proclamation
Governor Douglas McKay bans unregulated use of areas within and near the Biskiyou National Forest Area 66 P Eden Ridge 67 P Squaw Basin and Area 8 P Foggy Creek. Permits required from State Forester or fire warden with strict fire safety rules in effect from July 9 to December 31, 1949.
