Myrtle Point Cannery Opens With Reservation System
The Myrtle Point Union High School Community Cannery will start operations on Saturday July 8 1948 at the corner of 4th and Maple. To reserve a canning slot contact Mrs Mabel Barklew in Myrtle Point or Mrs Paul Davis of Gravel Ford and specify what you will can and approximate quantity. Canning charges are 9 cents per can for fruit and vegetables and 1 cent for meat, cannery runs every Saturday unless notified otherwise.

Giant Cougar Killed at Sugar Loaf Mountain
Reports state a very large cougar was killed by an unknown hunter with dogs at Sugar Loaf Mountain last Friday.
