Veteran Endicott Dies After Long Civil War Service
Myrtle Point mourns the death of 84 year old veteran Samuel Endicott the town’s sole survivor of the Civil War era. Born in Indiana July 31 1648 he served in Company F Missouri Volunteers. He leaves a large family including four sons and five daughters as well as siblings and a wife who predeceased him. Funeral services were held at Schroeder Funeral Home with American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars honors. Interment in Myrtle Point cemetery.

The Blowout Causes Accident Near Bridge
Mr and Mrs I E Furrow and two sons Bobby and David of Hillsboro were en route to visit Mrs Furrow's sister Mrs George Hermann of Broad Gent when a left front tire blew out above Bridge. The Chevrolet sedan ran off the road at 35 mph and crashed into a tree, injuring occupants. Mrs Furrow had minor bruises treated at Mast hospital. Wrecker from Paearce towed the wrecked car.

Injured by Horse Ride Near Eckley Hospitalized
