Youth from Gaylord Severely Cuts Foot Helping Father

Bridge Cattle Man W D Hale Dies in Portland
News from Portland reports the death of W D Hale a Bridge cattle rancher and longtime Alaska resident. Hale died at a Portland hospital on Monday July 1. He and Otto Peterson built a large cattle business at Bridge for about 15 years, selling two years ago to Ernest Bendachneider. Both bachelors and old friends, Hale spent his later years traveling including trips to Tennessee and a winter in Los Angeles.

Mrs Dora Brudsgar of San Francisco received treatment at Bart Hospital Friday for a cut head and injured knee after a head on collision on the Myrtle Point Roseburg highway. She was riding with Mr and Mrs F Rennans of San Francisco when a Bradford CCC worker's car, blinded by the sun, drifted off the road and collided. Both cars were badly damaged and the California automobile was towed by a local wrecker.

County Arrests Three for Larceny and Juvenile Vocation
County police arrested Leonard Jensen age 16 Vernon Kerns 18 and Cecil Langdon 18 on a larceny charge after they allegedly stole a wrist watch and diamond ring from a purse in a car parked at a barbecue stand. Jensen faced juvenile court and was sentenced to five years in the state reform school. Lennard Aubin 26 was fined 10 dollars and costs for intoxication with jail time suspended if paid by the 10th. Eugene Judd 37 was picked up on an old traffic violation after allegedly leaving the scene of a wreck without providing aid and paid a 35 dollar fine.
