District Plans 5th Annual Meet in Coquille
The Cool Soil and Water Conservation Districts fifth annual meeting will be held February 1 at 1 15 pm in the County Extension Office conference room in the Courthouse Coquille. US Agricultural Experiment Station official De R W Henderson will speak on research in soil forestry and water resources.

Lenora E Neely 95 dies in Ban don Coos County
Lenora E. Neely a longtime Coos County resident died January 14 in Band on at age 95. Services were held January 17 at the Coquille Chapel with Rev Onis Doty. burial followed at the Masonic Cemetery in Coquille. She was born August 5 1872 in Tillamook County and taught in the county before marrying Willis E Neely on October 30 1892. Her husband died in 1954. two sons died earlier. Surviving are daughters Mrs Sylvia Minter Mrs Myrtle Kelley and Mrs Mildred Johnson, sister Mrs Nettie Gaser, brothers George G Bunnell Victor P Bunnell and Fay B Bunnell, 12 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren.

Myrtle Point Alumni Plan Summer Reunion Picnic
Myrtle Point High School alumni association met January 16 at the Schroeders to set plans for a summer picnic on May 14 at Rotary Park. Officers include Vernon Howe president and Helen Schroeder secretary. Classes 1918 through 1958 were invited to reunite with designated class coordinators and a class roll recopying task. The next meeting is February 27 at the Dement residence.

Services Held For Alan Rhay
Funeral services were held Monday in the First Christian Church of Coquille for Alan Rhay 52 a Coquille resident who died Thursday in Myrtle Point. Interment followed at Myrtle Crest Memorial Gardens. Rhay a trainmaster for Georgia Pacific for 23 years was an active member of the First Christian Church Myrtle Lodges 78 AF AM and Order of Eastern Star. He started Cub Scouting in Powers. Survived by widow Alice of Coquille sons Phillip Timothy and Geary brothers Fred of Buffalo Lloyd of Hat Creek Wyo and Robert of Fort Polk La sister Mrs Levin Brady Buffalo.
