Gaylord Sheep Men Report Top Wool Prices

Gould and Arnold of Gaylord are believed to have received the highest price for their spring wool in Oregon. About a ton of wool shipped last spring brought 58 to 66 cents per pound, paid by the Pacific Wool Growers pool in Portland. The Gaylord firm, including M. G Arnold and D B Gould, plans a flock of pure bred Romney sheep with English and Australian rams and ewes, based on last spring's clip of about 200 Romneys.

Five-Year Term In Pen For Livestock Larceny

Robert Inmen Bryant of North Bend and Lloyd Edward Wallis pleaded guilty to larceny of a white face bull belonging to Charlotte M Smith. Bryant received five years in the Oregon penitentiary. Wallis awaited sentence. Both admitted killing the animal and led officers to the rest of the carcass in the North Fork area.

A flag may be issued by proper application with proof of death. Veterans Administration Form 2008 is available at VA facilities and county seat post offices. County Sets 1948 Dog Licenses At Two Dollars

On January 23 the County Court ordered collection of dog licenses for 1948 with a $2.00 fee per dog. Oregon law requires residents over eight months to obtain a license by March 1, or within 30 days of ownership, with penalties up to 200 dollars. Licenses and tags will be issued starting February 5, as reported by county clerk L. W Oddy.
