The 1965 66 biennial report shows 40 450 Oregon residents attended public colleges and universities one or more quarters, plus 6744 out of state students, totaling 47 194 enrolled. Mast Hospital Renovation to Begin at Mast Medical Center
Mast Medical Center will start a remodeling project in about a week. Kruse and Fitch of Coos Bay are architects and J B Bryan of Coquille is the low bidder at 48120 dollars, below the 50000 dollar estimate. The work adds 1200 square feet and new front and rear entrances, a pharmacy, exam room, consultation area, electric service, hydraulic elevator, sprinkler extension, exterior modernization, and a cedar sided upper façade.

Highway bids invited for ten projects in Oregon
The Oregon State Highway Commission will receive bids on February 2 in Salem for ten projects with an estimated total cost around 2.57 million dollars. One project in Coos County covers 1.82 miles of the Coquille Myrtle Point highway near Coquille, planning asphalt paving in 12 foot lanes and to be finished by August 31, 1968.

City Council Approves Car Junking Ordinance Expansion
At the January meeting the council amended the junking of cars ordinance to cover all city zones. New four year budget committee members named Ralph Whitaker Don Schirmer and Ron Endicott to fill Bill Downing’s remaining term. Oden received two years to remove the condemned bakery site and rebuild. The Grange seeks a new hall with site and zoning considerations. Over 200 unlicensed dogs were taken by the dog catcher with no further action planned.
