Sixty people gathered Monday night December 23 to honor Union High School football team winners of the Coos County championship. Al Simpson of Southern Oregon college praised the players for achieving success against larger schools while noting relaxed play leads to better results. Curt Beckham presented 16 letters. Curtis Dement and Ben Ear spoke for veterans affairs. Pepater girls organized the event and souvenirs were given.
