Broadbent Reconsideration Sought on Grade Move at MP District

Myrtle Point School District 41 board meeting Feb 23 confirms Gerald Lillie to the budget committee replacing Harold Robinson Arago. Superintendent Ray Neugart released from Rogue Valley Hospital after surgery will be absent a month. Broadbent delegation asks board to reconsider moving grades 5 6 from Broadbent to Bridge. Water system use on former Wise property approved by State Highway Department for year.

School Board Sets Pay for Chaperone Duties and Calendar

The board approved a pay schedule for chaperone duties on school buses and outside activities after school time. Five dollars for in county counts and ten dollars for out of county. A joint meeting with the board was requested for March 3. The budget hearing is set for March 17. The board renewed a three year contract for Superintendent Jimmy King and discussed teacher assignments and 1969-70 calendar recommendations.

Gold Rush Town Randolph on Whiskey Run Creek Coast

On the Oregon coast near Whiskey Run Creek mining thrived in 1853 and 1854 with an estimated one million dollars in gold dust taken from the creek and nearby beaches.
