The Rev Robert Lessing of Coquille was elected president of Coquille Valley Country club at the annual meeting held Friday night. Vern on Estelle of Myrtle Point was named vice president and Carl Hooker of Coquille secretary treasurer. Dues were cut from 30 to 12 dollars per year and green fees are half price until certain caps are reached. A board meeting is set for 2 p m February 27 at the Coquille Valley Country club. AMembership and tournament committee will be named by the directors.
Myrtle Point Junior Women's club met at 8 o clock on Wednesday February 23 to review a Red Cross window display project. Mrs Elvin Reed and Mrs Harold Hall served as hostesses for the gathering at the Myrtle Point Tana Ta area.
The Cope-Curry Bar Association annual meeting is set for 5 30 p m with a banquet at 6 38 p m in the Myrtle hotel banquet room. Wallace Dement will toast the banquet and Hon Harry H Belt associate justice of the Oregon Supreme Court will be guest speaker.
