The eighth annual Home Interest Conference at Oregon Sisto College drew 131 delegates. Groups met on Clothing and Textiles, Foods and Nutrition, Home Management, Parent Education, Landscape Gardening, and Recreation. Afternoon campus tours, a student concert, art exhibit, farm kitchen display, and a hobby show attracted many attendees.

Five Year Old Struck By Car Near Safeway Store
At noon near a Safeway, a five year old boy ran into the street and was struck by a westbound auto. The child was only glancingly hit and rolled about 20 feet but suffered no serious injuries. The driver was deemed blameless by witnesses.

A Powers unit of the Womans Christian Temperance Union was organized Monday afternoon at the home of Mrs A T Erickson. Coos Pioneer Frank Robison Dies After Illness
Prominent Coos county settler Franklin Benton Robison 88 died Sunday at his nephew Roy Robison’s home in Norway after a three week illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday at Gano Funeral Home in Coquille with Masonic and Eastern Star rites, burial in Coquille Cemetery. Robison, born June 26 1848 in Missouri, lived in Josephine and Coos counties before retiring eight years ago. He married Sarah Ellen Henderson in 1883. the couple had no children. He leaves a widow 91 and several relatives.
