A special meeting of McKinley Grange initiated a large class into the third and fourth degrees. Delegates from Broadbent Grange brought in Ted Green and others. Myrtle Point Grange will host future degree work on Feb 16 with Coquille Grange performing. Hasel Mullen and Severus McCarthy were installed as officers. Supper followed by dancing. next meeting set for Feb 23. visitors welcome.

Reuben Hartley To Be Buried Here Friday
Reuben Hartley died Monday February 11 at his Goldendale Washington home and was brought here for burial. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p m at Schroeder chapel with interment in the family plot at Norway. He was born July 20 1868 in North Carolina and lived here 30 years. He married Annie Arnold who died 11 years ago and is survived by sons Leslie of Portland Elmer and Almus of Missoula daughters Helen Solie and Ines Pardee of Goldendale two sisters Annie Grant of Broadbent and Alice Moran of Snohomish and three brothers Dave of Bandon Jack of Broadbent Leonard of Shasta California.

Youth Camp On Middle Creek Wins Group Approval
Chambers of Commerce representatives approved converting the former Conscientious Objectors camp on Middle Creek into a youth camp. The O and C administration granted permission to use the site and a watchman will be kept there with insurance carried. Managers include Mak Hill, Bay being cideen chairman, and officers from North Bend Myrtle Point and Bandon.

Mrs Phoebe Mast died Sunday after a short illness at Mast hospital. She lived in McKinley for years and was born May 2, 1880 in Etlecton Tennessee. Interment was at Dora cemetery with service by Point Methodist church. Former Local Woman Bertha Watson Dies at Home
Bertha Watson, born Sept 7 1892 in Julesburg Colorado and longtime Pleasant Point resident, died suddenly Monday at her Coquille home from heart tremble. Survived by a brother Ernest Schaefer of Outings Grove and Sale Ref and Mrs Rose Fox of San Fran, with a daughter and family child noted as deceased. The Watsons lived at Pleasant Point from 1930 until moving to Coquille a year earlier.
