The Oregon National Guard will construct a rifle range at the Myrtle Point Sportsmen grounds under a contract with the Myrtle Point Sportsmen’s Club. Tom Drake of Coquille will oversee immediate work including a long base range, concrete pit, backstop, and firing stations. The range will host guard encampments and later be available for local shoots under club supervision. A February 15 trap shoot is postponed to Creswell.
