Ernest L. Clausen was re elected president of the Coos County Fair board at Saturday’s meeting in City Hall. Sam Dement was re elected vice president with Herold Clarno secretary and P C Roper treasurer. New member Ernest Detlefses fills the Coos Bay chamber vacancy, joining Norwood Browne Myrtle Potat Wille Van Leuven on the board. Open fair dates set for August 24 25 26 and 27 with emphasis on no conflicts statewide and plans to boost exhibitor experience. The grand stand debt is fully paid at 460 dollars.

Pioneer stock man F. Mobson dies of heart attack
Fred Mobson, 68, a pioneer stock man in the Myrtle Point area, collapsed and died from a heart attack at the Myrtle Point post office Tuesday around 3:30 pm after collecting his mail. Schroeder ambulance responded, body taken to undertaker, funeral plans pending until relatives in the East can be contacted. Mobson, born and raised in Coos County, had no immediate local relatives.
