Fire destroys Walter Schroeder barn herd and hay
A midnight blaze at the Walter Schroeder barn in Lee destroyed the barn and hay, injuring 19 head of cattle. Adrien Schroeder found chores done and the fire started around 5:20 am. Neighbors Hervey and Michel aided. the barn had $1560 insurance but no coverage on hay or cattle. The barn remained smoldering the next morning.
