Edason Carpenter died along a road near Eugene on December 14 after a toothache. coroners ruled hyperacidity. He had served as a school clerk in Remote, then Crow, and moved with family to Crow Orr on Ritchey’s land. Survived by son Dannie in Willow Creek, CA, brothers George in Medford and John in Newark, NJ, plus many friends and church members.

Willey in Army at Presidio and West Point prep
Earl Willey a Union high school graduate of 1930 has been visiting here this week renewing acquaintances. He serves with the 30th infantry at the Presidio San Francisco and attends school as preparation to enter West Point. He was recently promoted to private first class and left for home in Eugene today planning to depart for San Francisco Saturday.
