State Highway Commission Assures 175 Women on Hiway 42 Plan
Some 200 wives marching for 42 met Portland police escorts as they arrived for a meeting with the State Highway Commission at the Imperial hotel. A large caravan of Greyhound buses and private cars blocked streets through Portland and Eugene while officials promised full consideration of the Highway 42 improvement. The Myrtle Point group, about 90 strong, joined the effort, leaving Thursday morning for the journey.
