Ottis Weltzheimer was granted a divorce from Mabel Weltzheimer. Barbara Wilson’s divorce from Carl Wilson was granted to the plaintiff.

Western Mercantile Agency sued Gus and Elle Johnson of Bandon on an assignment claim for caretaker while Johnson was away. Justice Stanley's court in Coquille heard the case Wednesday and ordered a verdict for the defendants.
The November library report records 1067 adult books read and 15 children's books read. It notes 307 magazines loaned and $4.24 in overdue fines collected plus $3.10 from fines. New application cards were issued during the month. The librarian repaired 18 books.
Coquille Valley Grange announces a joint meeting and officers installation to be held at Myrtle Grange hall in Myrtle Point. Arthur Brown will install. sandwiches and cake will be served. attendees urged to bring treats.
Mrs. Richard Arnold sustained a fractured skull from a car door accident last Wednesday night. She was knocked unconscious when the door swung shut as her husband Arnold exited the vehicle and she attempted to enter the home. She received medical care at Mast hospital before returning home.
Jim Powers tore knee ligaments and chipped bone after a slip during a weekly business men’s volleyball game. The fracture was reduced at Mast Hospital and the knee placed in a cast. He uses crutches and expects about six weeks off work while visiting his brother in Cor-Vi.
The city council held a calm session with two police officers present and no riot. Henry Hermann spoke on the record against the charter while Wallace Dement officiated. The meeting featured remarks, lighter moments, and the exchange of badges as celebrants planned an anniversary.
New beauty shop at 6 opened by Eenane Kay, formerly Tuty’s, after purchasing the site weeks ago. Kay trained at a Portland beauty school and gained experience in Coquille serving the county seat. Ernestine Schneider proprietor announces The Modern Beauty Shop has moved this week to the Schneider building at Fifth and Maple, into the former barber shop space. Walls retinted, new linoleum, and fresh merchandise installed to enhance service as Po opens mid September and attracts steady patronage.
The 1834 tax rolls were extended by the county assessor ahead of the 1835 collection. Myrtle Point City levy totals 41 92 for School District 41 and 2 for Union High, plus city 18 state and county 23 8, with other cities listed. Lakeside’s levy not yet reported. Mrs Lamby, who had been bedfast for many months, died Wednesday at her Coquille home. Funeral services were held at 2 o clock Wednesday afternoon from the Gano Funeral Home.

Mrs E J Igyneleet hosted a family Thanksgiving at the Butler residence on Maple Street with C H Butler and a large gathering including Clarence Buller of Coquille BE Schneider and Ernestine Schneide r of Nahe Lers Warner and Douglas son Walter Barklow and daughters Iriy and Genevieve and Jean Cole E J Schneider and Alden Butler had visited, hiking from Slahe and returning to Rogue River country.
Leonard Roos of West Myrtle Point was found dead on a logging road near Myrtle Point cemetery. Authorities ruled suicide, citing unemployment and inability to support his widowed mother as factors. Ruth and Donald Cupinski located the body after Roos failed to return from a hunting trip. He was born August 18, 1898 in Mishawaka, Indiana, and survived by his mother, a sister, and a nephew. funeral services were led by Rev. A. Couden at Schroeder Funeral Home with interment in Myrtle Point cemetery.
Mr. and Mrs. Merbert Snyder of Bancroft purchased the Henry Radabaugh ranch from the Federal Land Bank about a month ago. They plan to move to the new home as soon as possible, the ranch located near the Norway schoolhouse.
A town meeting is planned in Schrooter hall tomorrow night at 7 30 to discuss the Old Age Revolving Pension plan. Local officials invite residents to hear an outline of the proposed pension scheme and share views on its implementation.
Mrs C J Hall wife of the former Arlington pastor now at Silverton was severely burned on hands and face as flames swept through the parsonage and contents. Rev Hall started the blaze in the kitchen stove just before six and fled to his study. Smoke warned residents as Mrs Hall crossed the burning floor and was burned. Two daughters Louise and Elizabeth son Thomas and a niece Helen escaped uninjured.
The Myrtle Point Study club entertained the husbands with a school days party at the L A LaFlamme home on Willow Street Tuesday night. Members wore youthful costumes and played children’s games using lard buckets as lunch containers as entertainment.
Seriously ill H Taylor of Cemetery road was brought in from the Morrison logging camp after a log rolled on him in September. At press time he had been taken to Mags hospital with possible head blood vessel issue or typhoid fever. Willis Sell Carey Bones and Wade Sell brought Taylor to Myrtle Point.
Miss Alta Mead and Elbert West wed at 12 15 Sunday in Myrtle Point at the home of Mr and Mrs Ray Rookard on Ash street with Rev W A Couden officiating. A dinner followed and a reception at the bride’s parents’ home. The couple plan to live at the Otha Bay house on Spruce street hill after a brief honeymoon.
Mrs. Zack Grant proprietor of the Busy Corner restaurant in Powers has shown slight improvement after a period of bedrest due to heart trouble and blood clots. Her sister-in-law Mrs A L Howard of Gaylord has cared for her and she was able to sit up briefly yesterday.
Night patrolman R. A. Waymire oversaw renovations and repainting of the Myrtle Inn. The business update notes Waymire and his wife with their baby girl have relocated their home while continuing to run the establishment.
C. McAllister of Upper Halls County sustained a broken right arm head cuts and internal injuries after being caught in a belt at a mill on Matheny Creek. Condition reported as fair at press time.
