A Powers' Duck Pin tournament shows Bill's team led by Bill Brown Edwin Peterson Elwin Frye and James Gamwell with two wins and one loss. Stewart's squad of George Stewart Clarence Powers KE. R. The satter team with new players was defeated Tuesday night by Bill's team.
The Windermere juvenile title Tanglewood Tales and the Scandinavian Summer travel narrative arrive this week as a donation from Dr. T De La Rue of Coquille. Dr. De La Rue, also a writer, contributes Spanish Trails to California as part of the package.

Mr and Mrs Lisle Goodwin and daughter Dorothy Manning of Marshfield leave Wednesday for Los Angeles due to their son Ellier T Manning's serious illness in a hospital fire. Hospital communications Wednesday indicated a grave condition. Myrtle Cafe run by the family will close until their return, probably around December 18.
The Townsend Club No. 1 met Sunday at the American Legion hall for a potluck dinner with attendees from nearby areas including Sam Stout and the Von Pegerts. Afterward, Mrs. O H Clarke led entertainment while nominations were opened for more than twenty club council positions, with a vote planned for next Sunday to elect a 12 member council and choose a president. The club also received 100 Christmas seals from the public health association through the local chairman.
