Death of Coquille dairyman Detlefsen found at Beaver Slough
The body of Herman Detlefsen a 66 year old pioneer dairyman of Coquille who had been missing since Saturday November 22 was found by the Coos County Sheriff's posse Wednesday evening near the tide gate on Beaver Slough. The five day search was hampered by wooded conditions and he was taken to Schroeder Mortuary in Coquille with funeral services held Saturday at 11 am and burial at Sunset Cemetery in Coos Bay. Detlefsen born in Schleswig Holstein Germany was a pioneer Oregon dairy farmer.
