Born Alice Darnielle October 1 1868 in Josephine County Oregon she married J A Hatcher October 15 1884 at Empire. They settled in Fairview where he died December 29 1921 leaving 12 children eight living. Funeral August 14 at Coquille conducted by Rev MacDonald. She joined the Church of the Brethren at Fairview about 28 years ago and was regarded as a devout Christian mother and neighbor.
