Local hometown boy Sgt John Dickson, son of Mr and Mrs Tom Dickson, earns recognition in the Love-Total PLM maintenance competition. The crew logged 140 hours 55 minutes of flying time, beating the King-2 master crew chief by 3 hours 10 minutes.

Lundy Commissioned as 2nd Lieutenant in Air Corps
Robert C. Lundy of Myrtle Point is one of three Oregon men who completed a 3 week B-29 Flight Engineer course at Hondo Texas on August 6 and were commissioned 2nd Lieutenants. He served in the Pacific as an engineer on a Liberator and has trained in the U S for two years. He is now in Denver awaiting assignment to duty.
