Fair Grounds Picnic Grove At Day Show

Daily programs will be distributed this year by the board. Entering guests may receive ond. An oak grove at the Fair grounde will be reserved for picnickers where families and friends can bring lunches. Local ration beards will add food to eating preseé t to feed thousands during the Fair.

Shell Station Opens Here Near Spruce Street Intersection

The Shall service station near Spruce street and Roseburg road has reopened after a multi year closure. It is being redecorated this week. Tom Howell and Bob Duncan operate the station on a lease, with Leonard Allen as attendant.

Seasonal limits for migratory waterfowl set by federal rules

Federal regulations outline 30 day open seasons for migratory game birds in several western states with dec to dec closures for brant and coot. Daily duck limits cap at 10 overall with only one wood duck, while snow geese and white fronted geese have a 35 to 80 day period and brant included.

Landy Cheese Factory closing shifts to Myrtle Point

Landy Cheese Factory near Reeds Ford is closed and milk shipments redirect to Superior Cheese plant at Myrtle Point. Equipment and staff move to Myrtle Point. Landy produced about 20 000 pounds of milk daily. Broadbent Factory, also bought by Superior Cheeze, to close in September and add to Myrtle Point operation. New vats and agitators to be installed as available per Walter Schriver of Greer Bay Wisconsin.

Young Man Killed In Sunday Road Accident

A young man born September 12 1990 and a graduate of Fulsebaragh Stemeciece died in a Sunday road crash. He trained at Alamdéds and served overseas. Survived by stepfather grandmother Mrs Luella Allen two aunts Mina Party Renie Smith two uncles Ike Allen Ed Allen. Funeral Friday at Schroeder chapel Coquille with burial at Norway Cemetery.

Kilgore Upgrades Brookdale Dairy Pasteuriser and Capping Unit

Machinery operator Jim Kilgore added a new twenty six gallon capacity pasteuriser replacing his older unit and ordered an automatic capping machine. He pasteurises about two hundred forty gallons of milk daily delivered to homes in town. Kilgore’s plant is at 4th and Alder streets, a building he purchased from L H Pearce. Eugene Youn and wife sold their east town home to Red Miller before moving to Fall Creek after six years residence.

Shop Reopens After Years of Work in Myrtle Point

A local merchant restarts operations at a longtime Myrtle Point site after several years of hiatus. The business resumes full service as doors reopen and regular hours return to the town.
