Rodney Davenport joins All West Breeders sire committee
Rodney Davenport of Myrtle Point dairy ranch is named to the All West Breeders association sire selection committee. Also on the panel are F B Wolberg, OSU dairy specialist, and two Washington dairymen. The group bases at Enumclaw Washington. Davenport attended Jersey sales in Alabama New Jersey and New Jersey events including Marlu Choice and Dorbrook Farm visits. The committee bought one sale for the association.

Southwestern Oregon College Sees Rise in Fall Applicants
The Empire based Southwestern Oregon College reports increased fall applicants with Myrtle Point showing 19 students for the coming year versus 15 in 1963. Liberal Arts under 13 for 1964 and seven in 1963. Technical Vocational two in 1964 and five in 1963. The college total rises from 15 to 19 and overall applicants from 137 in 1963 to 166 in 1964.

Scouts Hike 56 Mile Trek Under Scoutmaster and Group

Professional rodeo returns to Coos County Fair grounds in Myrtle Point from Friday to Sunday August 14 16 with 8 pm showtimes Friday 8 pm Saturday and 1 15 pm Sunday. Events include saddle and bare back bronc calf roping steer wrestling bull riding and wild horse race. Hank and Bobby Christensen supply livestock.
