Rodeo Parade Crowns Float Winners at Myrtle Point
One of the largest rodeo parades in Myrtle Point history opened the second annual rodeo Saturday. The Moat division winner was a float led by Rodeo Queen Arlene Evans. Coquille Eagles earned honorable mention. Harmony Mills won first in the commercial division with Pacific, Feed & Seed Co. as an honorable mention. Best Oddity honors went to MN Stand Spruce Shop Sempert's Drug Store and Myers' and Myers.

South Bleachers Rebuild At Coos County Fairgrounds
The south bleachers at the Coos County Fairgrounds are torn down with construction to begin to replace them. Perry Roper, secretary of the fair association, says the new stands will allow an infield for better access to pari mutual betting booths. Workmen have reroofed the commercial industrial and 4-H buildings in preparation for the fall fair and race meet. Browning Bros amusement company will return for the fair, as they have for twenty years. Premium books are to arrive in the mall soon with details for exhibitors.
