Editorial on Townsend movement and public honesty
The piece argues editors and public officials should state their true stance on the Townsend movement rather than feign support. It values nerve and honesty, condemns forced or insincere endorsements, and criticizes arbitrary demands tied to age or merit.
Townsend plan favored as a path to prosperity and pensions
The piece argues for support of a Townsend style recovery measure aimed at universal prosperity. It highlights older Americans who saved yet lost during the depressions and proposes a pension or $50 monthly for good citizens funded by a sales tax without disrupting the economic order, urging thoughtful backing and broad support.
