The Coquille Valley Cow Testing Association reports strong results from testing 1140 cows in 1930 40 yards in the Coquille River valley and northern Curry county. The ten top cows averaged 168.28 dollars above feed cost each, while the ten lowest averaged 15.17 dollars. Average milk per cow reached 6236 pounds with 2991 pounds of butterfat per cow and gross product value about 9121.72 per cow. Feed cost averaged 49.80 dollars per cow. For each dollar spent on feed, an average return of 2.44 dollars was earned and butterfat cost averaged 0.16 dollars per pound. 80 cows identified as boarders were culled.

Ladies from Powers Myrtle Point Coquille and North Bend met at the Jack and Jill for a 1230 luncheon. The group renamed to Eastern Star club and elected Allison Roberts Powers president John Arnold Myrtle Point vice president and Anderson North Bend secretary treasurer. Mt Emily mining claims sold to Pacific Minerals group
Gold Beach reporter notes the Mt Emily group of claims in Checto district eight miles east of Brookings were sold by Mark C Wood and Frank Palady to Detroit capitalists Pacific Minerals. A mill expected within sixty days with 200 ton capacity. A former mill on the property was abandoned due to water shortage and mismanagement. John Carver recently left hospital with a foot injury and uses a crutch after an accident.

Town to Host Night School Event Monday at Union High
Visitors to Union High School night event are set for Monday evening May 4 with classes at 7 o clock and a 830 p m volleyball showcase between the Irons Club and the high school.
