Musicians Tour for State Festival in Eugene

Arnold Melby the music director will lead junior high band and soloists to Eugene for the state musical festival to be held Friday and Saturday April 30 and May. Soloists travel Friday morning in private cars. junior high band departs 5:00 AM Saturday from the junior high school and returns later the same day. Transportation is provided by local citizens after Greyhound decor issues.

High School Names Commencement Speaker

Graydon, the Myrtle Point Union High principal, announced that Professor Joannson from Linfield College will deliver the commencement address on May 21 at the high school. Joannson, a former mayor, traveled to many countries to compile history for his account of the Transport Command, reflecting the class motto Not The Forward Is To Go Backward.

Bible School Plans Set At Recent Church Meeting

Rev W A Briggs and Rev Marion Sterns led a church gathering in the Church of Christ parlors to map a summer Bible school with dates to be announced. Mrs Evans lists first through third grades at the Church of Christ with aides Mildred Miller Nancy Waybright Huff Sterns and Stateler and planning set for Friday at the Evans home. Coos County Fire Patrol to Discuss Tax With Livestock Producers

Coos county officials, including Nels S. Rogers and state foresters, will meet with livestock producers at Coquille city hall on Tuesday May 4 at 10:00 a m to discuss adjusting fire patrol taxes on developed grazing land and possible land exchange through the Bureau of Land Management.
