Marsh field county chairman Ben Chandler reported the second war loan drive exceeded its revised quota at about two million dollars. County totals showed 1 842 640 from banks and 1 200 000 from individual subscriptions with an original county quota of 1 728 000 raised after news of prisoner executions. Myrtle Point lagged due to payrolls, with women’s groups turning in 34 500 and the Presbyterian Aid contributing over 12 000 as presented at the Chamber of Commerce.

David Albert Moore 66 died Sunday morning at McAuley hospital Marshfield. Funeral services held Tuesday at Schroeder funeral chapel Myrtle Point with Rev. T J Pryor officiating. Interment Myrtle Point cemetery. Born Topeka Kansas July 22 1877 he later lived in Loon Lake near Reedport. Survived by widow seven sons five daughters seven grandsons two granddaughters. Funeral services were held Monday at 2:30 PM at Schroeder Memorial Chapel in Myrtle Point for Alfred Kellenberger 68 who died at his Norway home last Friday. Rev. Marion Stern officiated. Interment followed in Norway cemetery. Born in Hirahu Upperville Switzerland on April 7 18TS he had lived in the Norway community 26 years. He leaves a son in Coquille three Roee Hank Los Angeles Calif one sister and one brother in this country and two sisters and four brothers in the old country.
