Final plans for a Boy Scout court of honor were made in Coquille for Friday night April 26. Governor Earl Snell will present awards at the Coquille Community building. Scouts from Cove and Curry counties are expected to attend. A scout camporee is set for June 7 and 8 at the head of Rink Creek with a leadership training course for leaders of the six counties at McKinley youth camp on June 1 and 2.

County Sells Large Powers Tract for 3085 Acres
The county completed a sale of 3085.07 acres of range land near Powers to O R and H J Coldiron for 2.50 per acre. The land in sections five to nine and 18 16 and 18 township 31 north range 11 west is known as the loop near the Coos Bay Lumber railroad. The Coldiron brothers plan cattle ranching and fencing, with $2813 down and the rest on contract.

Driver Examinations Move to Myrtle Point Schedule
State driver license examiners will be in Myrtle Point at city hall every four weeks on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The change, effective May 1, shifts exams from Fridays as in the past. The first Myrtle Point session is May 23 as part of reorganized territories to meet rising demand.

Two Myrtle Point Residents Die Within Days
Two Myrtle Point residents died this week. Mrs. Cora May Little aged 61 died at a local hospital and Charles Carol Cox aged 87 passed away at home. Funeral for Mrs. Little set for 1 p.m. Saturday at Schreider chapel with interment in Masonic cemetery. Survivors include her husband, J F Atkinson, and others. Mr. Cox survived by his wife Mary and two other relatives.
