Myrtle Point Chamber of Commerce officials set a 300 dollar allotment to inform residents about hospital organization. Nineteen members met at the Myrtle Hotel to hear about petitions to withdraw from the Coquille Valley Hospital district and to explain tax facts for a new hospital.

City Offices Move to Better Space at City Hall
The city recorder water department and city manager offices will move within City Hall this week to gain about one third more space. Bright lighting and green-painted walls are part of the renovations done by city workers. The police department will relocate to the former recorder and manager offices to gain privacy for the jail during tours by scouts and school groups.

Two Arrested on Public Intoxication and Vehicle Charges
Warren Edward Gilbert, 52, was arrested Tuesday at 6 p.m. on a drunk in public charge with bail set at 150 dollars after he sideswiped cars in a reported accident. Ernest Bursey Shelton was fined 150 dollars and given 10 days in jail for operating a vehicle with a license and related offenses.

City Budget Delays Furniture Purchases and Elections
City officials said the six per cent limit will stay in place and no election will be held. The new budget funds furniture purchases planned for the end of next year, but delivery would be delayed for another year.

Crest ers beat Reedsport 112 to 93 with four regulars out. Dan Brown and Dan Krewson return Friday at 4 p.m. Gus Metzger cleared 8 ft 10 in in Class I and Pete Nemec 9 ft 4 in in Class III. Wayne Pike led 100 yard dash. Tom Krewson, Willings, Bobby Wilson and Pete Nemec won multiple events. Clees III relay also claimed first as Crest ers collected 15 first places overall.
