Incumbents Green Reelected To District 41 School Board
The District 41 School Board reelected Delbert Leep Glenn Gulstrom and R T Green in separate areas. Leep defeated Tom Coffman 427 to 235 in Broadbent Myrtle Point results while Gulstrom won a third term with 283 votes. Green led Arago with 413 votes over Doug Sinko 255. Bernard Altenbach ran unopposed in Powers with 149 votes as the district rejected the school levy 128 to 72.

The Coos and Curry wool pool sold for higher bids than Douglas County wool marking a first for local producers. Pendleton Woolen Mills bid 69.68 cents a pound for regular Romney wool and 65 cents for lambs wool while Douglas County wool brought 66.68 cents per pound.
