State Com to Get Coos Petition For Modern Highway
Coos County C of C road committee chairman George Burr returned from Salem after presenting to State Highway Commission secretary H G Glaisyer the committee's resolution and resource data urging a survey for a modern Roseburg to bay area highway through Coos County. Bridge Myrtle Point School Bands Hold Joint Concert
A large Myrtle Crest gym audience enjoyed an April 12 concert featuring Bridge band Myrtle Crest 5th grade Myrtle Crest Junior High and high school bands. Soloist Marilyn Winslow of Coos Bay impressed with The Butterfly and earned an encore. Directed by Dave Dillion and Les Simons, the event marked Bridge band’s first All-School Band Concert with hopes for an annual tradition.
