Information received by Myrtle Point schools says FERA relief is available to districts with warrants dated before March 1 1933. Coos county districts will obtain funds this month and next to extend terms from eight to nine months where planned. Myrtle Point High may close June 1 or May 25 depending on IRA payments and state admin word. Commencement is May 11 with graduation announcements already issued.

County Plans School Fund Disbursements in April
County Treasurer Charles Branff will mail checks around April 23 for about $36,000 to clerks of Coos county schools. The county superintendent is preparing orders for the elementary school fund totaling about $24,000. Checks will follow completion of tax department figures for March. On April 1 the treasurer noted payment for high school tuition warrants for 1932 first half about $10,000 and nonhigh school district warrants numbers 1 to 404 totaling around $12,000.

Alcohol Peddlers Arrested At Bandon
Three men Hicks Porter and Rosengrem were arrested two miles below Bandon by state police for transporting intoxicants from Crewent City California to Marshfield. They carried nine five gallon cans with a hidden one quart compartment and water to add weight. The alcohol tested at 180 proof. All three were arraigned in Justice J J Stanley's court in Coquille and bound over to the grand jury on $500 bail each.
