The Curry County Fair Board met at Hamm's Cafe Myrtle Point and set the fair dates for September 12 13 14 and 18 The board discussed premiums stays similar to last year and promises a large entry list for horse racing A rodeo show is being sought and cooperation with the newly formed Curry County Fair board is planned The next meeting will be in Bandon with invitations extended to the Curry County group to attend Optimism runs high as preparation proceeds with training horses at the track and the usual carnival by the company the standard planounder car and carnival games expected.

Garden Club Studies Herbs For Kitchen Garden
The Tuesday night meeting of the Garden club at Wang Rescalhone featured a session on planning a kitchen garden with herbs. Mrs Sarah Haughton spoke about her mother’s English kitchen garden and herb uses. Mrs Francis Floyd won the prettiest bouquet trophy. The club will resume summer meetings at the city hall, next on Tuesday April 24.

High Carnival Well Attended at Local High School
More than 400 people attended the annual high school carnival in the gym last Friday evening. The program featured band numbers, a hair-raising high dive, slack wire, a military drill, tumbling acts, ventriloquism, comedy skits, roller skating, and the Zice fed Follies with Myrtle Point street boys. Powers youth fractures wrist during track practice

Former Local Man Endicott Dies in Eugene
RP Endicott aged 83 died at his Eugene home after a year of heart trouble. Born October 17, 1850 in Crawfordsville Indiana he served in the Union army as drummer boy in Missouri's 51st infantry. He moved to Oregon in 1863 living in Myrtle Point Marcola and Eugene. Surviving include son E R Endicott of Eugene and daughters Mrs Taylor and Mrs Lewellen of Eugene, with six brothers and four sisters listed. Funeral held Wednesday in Eugene with interment in the family plot.
