Thomas Barklow, 20 minutes after a choking spell at home, died in Myrtle Point Coos County. Known as the Marrying and Burying Parson, he served many towns, preached when ill, officiated weddings and funerals, and led church services across the region. Funeral services drew a large crowd.

Pioneers Leach Couple Laid to Rest in Coquille Cemetery
The Coos County Herald reports the passing of Mr. and Mrs. A A Leach aged 80 and 78 respectively, longtime Myrtle Point hotel owners. Married January 28 1867 near Bandon Illinois they lived in Coquille 35 years before moving to Myrtle Point. Surviving children grandchildren and great grandchildren are named, with funeral held at Gano and Schroeder chapel Coquille and burial in the local lodge cemetery.
