New Schedule For Bullards Ferry
The county court after an extended hearing Monday ordered a new ferry timetable for Bullards Ferry. From November 1 to May 1 service runs 7 am to 7 pm daily and 7 pm to midnight on Sunday Wednesday and Saturday evenings. from May 1 to November 1 service runs 7 am to midnight daily. A half hour lunch period from 12:18 to 12:45 is exempted from the schedule.

Former Benton County Sheriff Dies In Oregon
Marshal Phelps Burnett, who led Benton County as sheriff for years and later served 15 years as a federal prohibition officer in Portland, died of a heart attack at the home of his son in Myrtle Point. He was 73, born August 11, 1861, and survived by his wife Minnie, two sons Charlie Alvin Burnett and Robert Leo Burnett, one sister and two grandchildren. Funeral services were held in Corvallis with Schroeder Funeral Home handling arrangements.

Walter Boren of Myrtle Point was arrested Saturday by City Police Officer Bert Pearson and charged with being drunk and disorderly. He appeared before Justice E A Dodge and received a $25 fine, a six month suspended jail sentence, and one year of parole.

County Officers Arrest Robber Day Of Theft
Stephen Clink aged 24 and Cassius Brock aged 21 were arrested the same day as the robbery of Manello Camelo, a Bunker Hill restaurant employee, who lost $75. They pled guilty and were sentenced with Clink receiving 10 years and Brock 3 years plus a 10 day stay for possible parole consideration. About $65 was recovered.
