Power Outage on Bonneville Line Cuts Oregon Territory
A 115000 volt Bonneville transmission line between Eugene and Mapleton failed at 12 50 pm causing a large southwestern Oregon power outage. BPA dispatched a patrol plane to locate the trouble while Pacific Power & Light faced overloads and mills at Weyerhaeuser and Georgia Pacific were cut off. Continued on Back Page.

Robert B Chessman 36, publisher of the Astoria Budget and manager of KAST radio, was appointed by Governor Holmes to the three member State Highway Commission.
