City council approves sewer bond payments and park court use

At Monday night’s meeting council members authorized payment of 1800 for sewer bond interest. The marshal outlined drainage work between Spruce and Ash streets as 60 feet of concrete pipe laid and 200 feet of culvert to follow. High school plans to use city tennis courts for 40 students were discussed with public use concerns and posting of park rules.

Handicap Golf Finals Set at Coquille Valley Club

The Coquille Valley Country Club handicap golf finals reached its final stage after quarterfinals and semifinals. Bill Barrows beat Edgar Richard, Robert McLarrin defeated Clayton Mast, Jack McLarrin beat Louis Felsheim, and George Linn edged Stewart Norton. Barrow then beat McLarrin and McLarrin topped Linn to reach the final against Bill Bernows.
