Double murder suicide shocks Coquille garage
In Coquille at a garage, Joseph Coach of Bandon shot G. I. Treadgold, a Bandon attorney, then killed himself. Witnesses A. A. Paull and F. N. Perkins described the sequence, with Coach’s act following a divorce suit filed the day before. Treadgold died at once. Coach survived until Monday afternoon and was buried later in Coquille.

Myrtle Point High Defeats Marshfield in Tennis Meet
Myrtle Point High School tennis team traveled to Marshfield last Saturday and defeated the local squad. In singles Orvin Gant beat Kramer 6-0 6-2, Lyle Nosler defeated Horsefall 6-1 6-1. Nosler and Gant won the doubles 6-3 6-1. The county aims to make tennis a school-wide sport.

Turn-table Completed at Local Railroad Yards
The turn-table in the local railroad yards was completed this weekend. Engine No. 502 was turned with S. Taylor Jones, superintendent, and William Wilson of Portland observing.
