Norway Creamery won first prize for butter at the Oregon State Fair with 96 points. The award includes $40 cash, a $50 silver cup, a $25 carving set, and $10 in trade from De Laval Dairy Supply Co. of Seattle. This marks the third Oregon Fair first prize in five years, two by Henry B. Quain and this year by Clarence M. Barklow.

Eugene Oregon October 3 Rev J C Richardson an 82 year old pioneer Baptist minister returns to Myrtle Creek broken hearted after being turned from his daughter’s home. He deeded his 200 acre Eugene property to his children and now faces possible life on charity. He plans to return to Myrtle Creek and seek aid as his wife Anna Kent suffers health decline and may need hospital care.

Lester and Cleave Sumerlin returned late last week from Alaska where Lester had worked a mine near McCarthy.
