Delavan Comet Visible to Naked Eye in Early Evening
Delavan’s comet, discovered by Paul Delavan at La Plata Observatory on December 17, 1913, has become visible to the naked eye within the past ten days. It will not match Halley’s display due to its greater distance and timing, but remains a bright show in the northwest sky near Arcturus and the Big Dipper, best viewed in the pre-dawn hours in the northeast.

Bridge Work Advances on Smith-Powers Line Near Wagner Ranch
Material for a two span bridge on the Smith-Powers railroad construction was brought to town by bridge superintendent Mr Moser after a trip to Marshfield with a crew.
