Osprey Wreck Claims Five Lives Off Coos Bay
The Schooner Osprey of WedderBurn Trading Co. was wrecked on the Coos Bay bar jetty during entry last Friday morning. Captain Gus Johnson and four others are reported dead after rescue attempts by Captain Tyler of the Tug Roscoe and aviator Christopher son in his airship. Only a coat believed to be Engineer Johnson’s was found among the wreckage.
