Lester Lafferty nine year old son of Mr and Mrs L Lafferty of Norway drowned last Monday afternoon while playing near the water with a boy named Bart. The Bartlett boy tried to save him and a neighbor J B H McCloskey rushed to help, but the Lafferty boy did not resurface. A long search by boats and volunteers followed with no successful recovery by Tuesday.
