The wedding of Dollie Evalyn Gant and Lawrence B. Jennings took place Wednesday noon June 18 1913 at the Rural home of Mr. and Mrs Calvin Gant. Rev Thomas Barklow officiated beneath honeysuckle and roses with Elmer and Ellis Gant scattering flowers. Florence Jennings played the wedding march and Miss Ollie Gant was bridesmaid. The couple will reside at Remote where Jennings manages the Fetter farm.

Stole Ring Goes to Jail After Theft at Jewelers
A man who gave the name Fred Monroe stole an $8 gold ring from Hermann Brothers jewelers Monday forenoon while Harry Hermann was away. He sold it for $1 to laborer Paddy O'Shea, who recovered the ring. Monroe led officers on a chase and was captured near L. J. Roberts' place eight miles southeast, then jailed after a Judge fined him $25 and costs or forfeit to county jail. A Randolph lumber mill fire caused $80,000 loss with $40,000 insured. Also noted is a race between Shamrock and Allen’s black stallion, Shamrock declared winner.

The Myrtle Point special election to amend the city charter cannot be held July 7 due to a new registration law. Voters must be registered at least fifteen days before a special election, and registration books have not yet been provided. The council will set a new date to allow adequate registration.
