A flood of travelers to Myrtle Point over recent weeks has filled hotel rooms as midwest freezes push settlers west. The Portland Letter notes plans for railroad expansion, new timber poles from Port Orford cedar, and local property sales offering 60 day deals.

Department of the Interior notice from the U S Land Office Roseburg Oregon dated May 10 1910 announces Bennet Swanton of Marshfield Oregon filed sworn statement and application to purchase timber and land in Township 28 south Range 11 west Willamette Meridian under the Timber and Stone Law. Timber valued at 2500000 board feet $0 30 per M land values $60 final proof set for August 6 1910 before Roseburg officials protest or contest allowed. Also includes an unrelated health ad for Ballard's Herbine from N G W Perkins and notes on a nursing salve for infants.
Sarah F Cobb of Roseburg Douglas County Oregon filed notice of intention to make final proof to establish a land claim for the SW of section 21 township 26 south range 10 west Willamette Meridian before the Register and Receiver at Roseburg on June 24 1910. Also contains unsafe promotional ad copy for Buckdew Arnica Salve Chamberlains Liniment and Ballards Snow Liniment.
