Fourth of July Celebrations Across Coos County Planned

Myrtle Point plans a large Fourth of July with a grove gathering near the depot including music by the Myrtle Point band and Bender orchestra, a county superintendent address by W. H. Bunch, a basket dinner, and sports with increased prizes. Marshfield hosts four days of racing with imported horses and local entries, Coquille and Bandon offer programs and a flying machine demo, while groups consider an Esperanto association meeting in Portland with delegates to the Washington convention.

Meeting of Esperantists State Convention Set for July 16

A state convention of Esperantists has been called for July 16 in the con- text. Esperanto speakers plan meetings, speeches, and organizational activities at the event. Aimed at promoting the language, the gathering will involve clubs, societies, and interested individuals statewide.

Bandon Defeats Myrtle Point In Close Baseball Tilt

In a tight season game at the local grounds last Sunday Bandon edged Myrtle Point 4 to 3 after Myrtle Point led for several innings. The teams will meet again at Bandon next Sunday as Myrtle Point seeks revenge. An excursion boat will operate offering a $1 round trip fare.

Pretty wedding in Coos County ties two families

Miss Verna Weekly and J Hailey Laird wed in Myrtle Point on Tuesday the twenty eighth. Elder J C Clapp performed the ring ceremony. The couple, natives of Coos County, plan to settle in Sitkum after a Portland trip, with elaborate decorations and gifts noted.

Hoopes and Davis wed quietly after bereavement

Mr Joan E Hoopes of Cincinnati representing Victor Safe and Lock Co marries Miss Elma Davis daughter of the late H S Davis at Rev Thomas Barklow's home in this city Sunday night. Witnesses were Mr Ira N Abbott and a simple ceremony follows the recent death in the family. The couple plan to reside here temporarily with possible move to California later.

A traveler plans a route between here and Camas and will make two horse changes. He equips several teams of large horses and a new four seated Studebaker stage wagon designed for strength and comfort with springs for elasticity. The setup aims to ensure steady work and drivers will steer clear of drinking and avoid frightening passengers.

Lundy Elected G. A. R. Delegate at Encampment

Wm. King returned from Astoria where the G. A. R. state encampment was held. R. W. Lundy of this city was elected a delegate to the national encampment in Atlantic City starting September 19. Other officers elected included Beach, Craig, Hall, Stockwell, and Williams as adjutant and quartermaster general. Ashland chosen for the 1911 encampment.
